   Cannabis sativa is well known plant in india. It belongs to the family 
Cannabinaceae . It is commonly known as indian hemp. It is a native to western and central Asia.' It contains cannabinoids. The therapeutic effects of cannabinoids (THC) for nausea and vomiting in the advanced stages of illness such as cancer and AIDS. Other therapeutic uses of cannabinoids are being demonstrated by controlled studies, including treatment of asthma and glaucoma .'[WHO]
   In India it is cultivated in W.B., M.P., Maharashtra and T.N. under strict vigilance of Govt. as it used as an intoxicant.

Morphology of Cannabis sativa :-

Cannabis sativa is a 1-5 m high stout annual herb. It's leaves are dark green in colour, palmately compound Dioecious with male flowers in long drooping axillary and terminal panicles and female in short axillary leafy spikes.All plant parts are densely clothed with glandular hairs. It produce Achene type of fruit .
